Bob's Thanksgiving Service

Bob King

As some of you will no doubt already be aware, Bob King, one of our longest standing local preachers and also a former pastor with the City Mission,  died after a long illness.

A memorial and thanksgiving service took place on Saturday 17th May at Pendlebury Evangelical Church on Bolton Road, Pendlebury, M27 8TD

Bob's family is spread all over Britain and therefore the family felt since Bob had given his body to medical science it would make sense to hold a thanksgiving service for him on a Saturday. Unfortunately this clashed with a major event for the Alzheimer's Society that was being held at the HMCC on that day. Given not least the nature of Bob's final illness, the family were keen that this event should still go ahead and so it was agreed that the service would be held at Pendlebury Evangelical Church, not far from the HMCC.

The service was a wonderful celebration of memory and thanksgiving and truly inspiring.

Bob was a great and humble man, a Christian in the truest sense who made an enormous contribution to the life of the Church in inner Salford.  Please pray for Bob's wife Jacky and all Bob's family and friends.

Thank you
